The school was conceptualized amidst the Covid 19 pandemic strongly insisting on the need of a healthy environment for the students. The project is located in Chennai’s sprawling Besant Avenue park densely covered with vegetation.
CoLEAD is assisting Vastu Shilpa Sangath on developing sustainable strategies for mixed mode ventilation to maximize fresh air in the classrooms. Going to the roots of vernacular architecture, CoLEAD is exploring ways to maximalize energy efficiency through data driven design insights.
The project is designed for the Simultaneous operation of ACs, Fans, and Air conditioning using higher setpoint temperature and increased airspeed to improve thermal comfort.
Energy Simulations were done on Energyplus to derive Chillers’ HVAC sizing and Part Load efficiency.
